About Me

Dear Parent(s),
Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself and provide you with some information on my background as an educator. In addition, I will furnish you with a brief outline of this year’s curriculum. My name is Marianna Mullins and this is my 8th year teaching 3rd grade at Plato Academy Palm Harbor. Prior to joining Plato Academy, I taught third grade at Pinellas Park Elementary for 11 years. In addition, I taught second grade at Annsworth Montessori Academy in Clearwater for five years. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Education and Associate’s Degree in Child Development at Kent State University in Ohio. I am certified (K-3) in both states. In 2010, I became ESOL certified (English Students of Other Languages). I have been married for 29 years and have two children. I truly enjoy teaching and look forward to the coming year with great enthusiasm. As for the curriculum, children will begin to study for their weekly spelling words beginning the second week of school. Math, Science, Social Studies as well as Health will be included in this year’s curriculum. Homework will be assigned Monday through Thursday and each child will have a “Homework Binder” to carry their assignments to and from school. Please make sure to check it daily and acknowledge by signing. I expect all students to complete all their assignments every day. Please practice concepts taught in class at home, as this will help your child retain the knowledge. Should you have any questions or concerns throughout the year, you may communicate with me by writing in the homework folder, by e-mailing me at: [email protected] or by calling me on my cell phone (727) 452-1327. To conclude, I look forward to working with you and your child this school year and will do my very best to provide the highest quality educational opportunity possible. Kind regards, Mrs. Mullins |
